Why I’m Building a Blog That is True to Me (part of the “What #BelleLive Taught Me” blog tour)

Last Month I had the pleasure of being (virtually) attending yet another AMAZING CreativeLive course.   In this course we did not talk about aperture, shutter speed, lighting, or photoshop. Instead, with the help of April Bowles Olin of Blacksburg Belle, we dove head first into our blogs and everything related. (Check out the…

I am going to check this course out. Even if we know these tips, sometimes we need to be reminded. Thanks for sharing! 🙂ReplyCancel

      My pleasure Kitty!
It was great course with huge workbook and resource packs. (If you RSVP you’ll be able to download one but when you buy the course you get both plus the HD and low res videos for download or anytime streaming from the website.) We also have a FB group going for those who participated that’s super supportive.ReplyCancel

I really enjoyed this post. I need to keep telling myself to just start. I find blogging difficult because I want to blog for my customer not other makers.ReplyCancel

Done IS better than perfect. I Can’t wait to get started on my blog goals!ReplyCancel

      I know the feeling Krystal!
I have big goals but they feel that much more doable and important to me too since April’s course. The goals I have now are know longer what others have done or what I think I ‘should’ do, instead it’s based on what I value, what I want to write, or what feels right to me! So empowering and freeing!ReplyCancel

Hey there fellow artist! I love your photos. Can’t wait to see how your blog evolves and succeeds!ReplyCancel

Thank you so much Vivayne! I’m excited to unveil some new fine art pieces and collections this summer as my Windows on the War of 1812 heads back out on tour through three Southwestern Ontario Art Galleries.
I’m also excited to really be able to put myself and my heart back into my blog. What are you most excited to see on the blog – wedding inspiration? real weddings and portrait image reveals? fine art pieces, collections, and tours? personal posts? behind the scenes?
I’d love to hear what you look forward to seeing on the blog!ReplyCancel

I really enjoyed reading through the list on your about page! And I love how you totally got me to go and read it in this post, your sense of humor is contagious 🙂 I think I need to make a list like that as well because it’s awesome. Been on the fence about doing something like that but after reading yours I reckon it will be a great addition!ReplyCancel

I have a wedding board on Pinterest, because at one point, I was planning on starting a virtual wedding planner business. And I still sometimes go back and ponder if I can do anything involving weddings….they’re just so much fun!!!

And I love seeing your wedding stuff flit through my Pinterest & Twitter. 🙂ReplyCancel
