At many of the Bridal Shows I attend I'm always looking for ways to help brides and grooms along the way with getting the most out of the wedding experience especially where photography is concerned. In order to help create a smoother experience on the wedding day I encourage couples to discus a list of questions with their photographer. Over the next two posts (today and Wednesday of this week) I will be sharing a little about my responses to these questions. 1. How long are your processing times? When should we expect to see proofs? How long will it take to get photos and other items in after we order?
Unlike many other photographers I guarantee to have proofs ready for your in studio imaging viewing session within two weeks of the original session date (just in time for review when you’ve recovered from your amazing honeymoon!). Once the order has been placed I get to work right away on preparing things for your pick up and I guarantee everything will be ready for pickup or delivery within two weeks. Why so quick? Because I’m impatient too! I want to share your photos with you, I want you to have them to share while they’re still new and fresh, and I want to surpass expectation of the average photographer!
2. When are the payments due? How much is each payment? What methods of payment do you accept?
Our policy is a 50% non-refundable deposit is due at the time of booking to reserve your date with that remaining balance due by the day of your wedding. We currently accept cash or personal cheque as methods of payment but look forward to adding debit and credit options in the near future. Watch the website for updates.
3. Do you bring assistants or any other staff with you?
At the average wedding the only representative of Rebecca Nash Photography will be the Photographer, Rebecca, with the exception of weddings where a second photographer has been requested in which case Rebecca will arrive with the second photographer and make introductions before the day’s work begins.
There are occasions when I have requests from other students of photography to work with me on wedding and portrait sessions. If this arises, clients will be contacted prior to the planned session and always have the opportunity to decline the additional guest.
4. What is included in the packages? Are there any additional fees? (Meals, Travel, Taxes, Location fees, etc)
All of our wedding packages include one photographer for the stated number of hours of shooting on the day of the event, all post processing, unlimited consultations prior to the event, an image viewing session, and now a 12x12 coffee table album of images. All weddings in London, Ont. and a 50km radius include transportation for the photographer. Events outside this area will be subject to travel and accommodation charges. All prices for products and services are subject to HST. For more information please contact me directly at 519-204-0309 or email@example.com
5. What is your shooting style? How should we expect you to be acting throughout the day?
I shoot in what some like to call a photojournalistic portrait style. What does that mean? It means during your event you can expect me to move around the area as discreetly as possible to capture the images I need to get from the best angle possible while doing my very best to avoid distracting anyone at your event or inferring with the ceremony. That’s the photojournalistic part. The portrait portion comes into play as I do understand most couples still wish to have the traditional family and wedding party shots. I also enjoy working with the couple to create some beautiful couples portraits. All of these portraits take place between events in your days schedule or at quiet moments in the evening. At the end of the day it boils down to this...it’s your day not mine. You and your guests should be able to look back on it and how beautiful it was without the day being spotted with this photographer who kept asking everyone to “stop, look this way and smile!” You deserve to have your day the way you planned and still have gorgeous photos and albums to remember the day with.
