May Blog Renewal thanks to #BelleLive

Okay, I know I know...It's Sunday evening so why am I on the blog writing to you? Because I'm excited to share with you. I hope you'll take a moment to read on to this short post and get involved in the conversation!

May is here and while the May flowers the old saying promises may have not arrived yet, the season of renewal has arrived!

Last month, I planted the seeds for something fabulous - An Etsy store that allows me to share my art and make it available to people all over the world!

This month, it's time for renewal. There are certain aspects of my business that need an infusion of energy and vision.

One of those things is right in front of you and I right now, my blog!

When I first began blogging, I was energetic and enthusiastic about it and each and every post just radiated with that passion. As time went on, I let the blog take a back seat.

This month I've started the journey to creating the blog that you as my fabulous readers deserve by diving into a course on my favourite online learning site, CreativeLive.

I spent 3 full days with the fabulous April of Blacksburg Belle virtually in her Build a Successful Creative Blog course learning to love my blog again, write what matters, and connect with my community!

I'm so excited to review this workshop, do the homework, and make changes. The changes may start slow and small (I've already made some, can you see them?) but I promise you, by the end of this month I will present you with a refreshed version of the Rebecca Nash Photography that will become the resource and community I dream of sharing with each and every one of you!

Want to have a say in the changes? Tell me in the comments below all about your favourite parts of the blog and the things that you'd love to see me lose. Got a big idea? Throw it out there, I might just fall in love with it.

Each client is trusting me with the opportunity to know their story, share their story, and help them in celebrating life and love in art." - Rebecca Nash

Inspiration Infusion: Junebug Weddings

Junebug Weddings is definitely a one stop whop for wedding photography inspiration.

The beautiful ladies behind Junebug weddings have created something of a masterpiece here. As successful wedding photographers themselves, Christie & Blair have high expectations of their members professionalism and it shows on their gorgeous website. These ladies gather some of the top wedding photographers and vendors from around the world and put them all together on one site for hours of browsing, planning, and pinning fun.

Thanks to CreativeLive & Sue Bryce I was introduced to this power duo in 2013. I didn't just become enamored with their website and the beautiful images. No, I had my but handed to me in the form of a client survey & website review. The things I learned from them blew my mind! I'm still working hard to implement it all, but I know they have pushed me in the right direction.

Whether you are looking for photography inspiration, wedding ideas, or business help (see business consulting at the very bottom of their page) these ladies have something to offer!

Goodbye for Summer

I'm sad to say, it's time to say goodbye. Well, maybe not goodbye...how about see you later?

With June starting tomorrow (eekkk!) I am taking a sabatical from my regular blog features.

Why?

Good Question! I have been working on my goals, my business, my health, my family life, and more over the last few months and now it's time to really put it all in place.

It's time for me to get back behind the camera, back to the gym, and back into my family so I can continue to grow!

The plan is to take the summer off to grow, learn, and explore all aspects of my business and personal life. To reconnect with myself, my family, friends, business, clients, and future clients.

Will the regular features return? Absolutely! Will they be the same as the are now? No way! There will still be style, there well still be weddings but look forward to more information, images, inspiration and personality to come! It's going to be bigger and better!

Throughout the summer there will still be blogging. Check in when you can to hear about my adventures, my AHA moments, and my shoots!

Until then...thanks for being fantastic readers, supportive friends, and the inspiration behind much of my growth and goals for the future. I can't wait to connect with you soon with even more to give!

New Colours & Website - Now New Blog Direction

As part of my experience at BlogHer I've realized something...I'm very unfocused. While in many areas of my life and business this portfolio of diverse interests has served me well (and continues to do so), this type of jumping around on the blog isn't fair to you, my loyal readers. It's not until now that I really started to look at it. At many of the sessions I attended people asked up to put up a hand for (or gave tips for) specific categories of blogs. It was through these moments, and meeting new people who immediately asked "What's your blog? What do you write about?", that made me realize maybe it was time for a change.

Everything I've written about has been true to me. It's been something I've written, believed, and has been related to my life as a photography, entrepreneur, artist, photographer, mother, and woman. I realize now, just because it's part of who I am doesn't mean this blog is where it belongs.

Let me take this moment to apologize for the craziness my blog has been - it's not fair to you, and thank you for sticking with my anyways! I promise to work to do better for you. Here are my goals going forward:

1. To be more consistent on my blog with regularly scheduled posts 2. New Topics that relate to what I've heard you say you want to see me write about - Got more ideas? Send them in! I'm always listening 3. Remember that this blog is my business blog, and as much as I love to share my life with you now all my readers, potential clients, current clients, past clients, and their friends and family want to read about my life 4. Create a personal blog - it may not be as consistent as this one but I do want to continue to share a little more of my life but this way, it's your choice whether you want to read that content or not

Please be patient as these changes are implemented and let me know  how I'm doing!

Recap - Fabulous Friday at BlogHer12

Official Day One of the BlogHer12 conference kicked off with a delicious Newbie breakfast and Welcome. Both gave great information about the happenings at the conference and how to get the most out of it but I admit, I was anxious to just dive right in. My goal that day was to hit as many sessions as possible, attend the private parties I had been invited to, get to the second expo hall that I couldn't the night before, and make it to Sparklecorn. Did I succeed? Well not with all of it... I did however... - Attend a session about working with the media which gave me some great ideas on reaching out to my local media - Make it through the entire lower expo hall where I had a chance to meet lots of great sponsors - Attend all the private events I was invited to including the Microsoft Style Luncheon and Live Spreecast with Celebrity Stylist Jeannie Mai, the RoomKey party at the Rooftop Ava Lounge, The Naughty Monkey Party (shoes people, pretty pretty shoes), and the Harley Davidson event at Whiskey Park (Yes I was drooling!) - Walk through part of NYC on my own and not get lost - Make it to some of the Sponsor lounges up on the 42nd floor which resulted in Alyssa getting her first Hot Wheels Car and me hanging out talking chocolate with a Rep. in the Hersheys S'mores Lounge - Create my own dish at the Hillshire Farms booth (totally delish!) while chatting up some fellow Canadians

It was a fantastic day overall even if I didn't accomplish everything I had hoped to that day I was still running around like a chicken with my head cut off (or so it felt).

To slow down for a moment, I have to talk about one of my highlights of the day which was definitely the Windows Style Luncheon. We got to visit Microsoft's NYC office, have an awesome lunch, win great products and prizes (not me personally but oh well), and listen to Jeannie Mai as she dished out great style advice on the spreecast (missed it? You can still check it out at http://www.spreecast.com/events/microsoft-blogher12). I was fortunate enough to even get to ask a style question of my own and get advice from Jeannie Mai live in person in front of everyone in the room and online. Talk about nerve racking! It was a fantastic experience and I was so excited that my walking buddy was actually one of the five lucky winners of the Windows Style Makeover Experience I blogged about a few weeks ago. Everybody was super sweet and Kristina Libby even helped me get some new shoes that wouldn't tear my feet off!

Check out some of the photos below to see just what a great time we had!

Connect with Jeannie Mari too (she's super friendly) on her Website, Facebook, or Twitter!
