Style Me Monday: Spring Classics Accessories

As I was preparing for my vacation and the first day of spring was approaching, it was time to pick up some classic warm weather essentials for my vacation style. To me, the reappearence of these things just screams warm weather and sunshine.
As the days grow longer and warmer, what accessories will become your warm weather staples?

Style Me Monday: Shades of Jackets

Wahoo, it's time to talk about jackets again! With winter upon us, I'm as guilty as anyone at letting my style go out the window - I just want to be warm! Does that mean that staying warm can't be stylish? Definitely not, as these jackets show...
I love the variety of jackets available this year. Just by wandering through your local mall you will find a wide variety of shapes, sizes and colours. Now anyone who knows me know, I love me some great colour but, there is a place for some great neutrals in every closet too. When it comes to a real investment piece like an amazing jacket - I'm probably reaching for something neutral...why?
  1. If I'm investing more $$ in it, I want to know it's high quality and going to last!
  2. Neutrals are always in style - get something in a classic flattering fit and spurge on new accessories to stay on trend year to year - think great scarfs, hats, gloves, boots, belts and more!
  3. Neutral colours tend to hold their colour (and are easier to clean) for longer
What's your favourite cold weather style?

Style Me Monday: One Little Black Dress - Two Outfits

Last week I had a tough new challenge...finding something to wear for my appearance on Daytime London. I started out by hitting the mall...I found tons of great items but many of them would be one use items.
Then I stepped into Jacob and quickly had a full room of dresses, tops, and skirts to try on. When I got to this black sheath dress I just loved it. It fits beautifully, is classic and appropriate. In short, I loved it!
Before I decided on anything, I needed to plan it out - what would be the most practical? If I bought this dress what options would I have for upcoming events like the Gallery Opening? Here are two of my favourite options...
I'm notoriously bad for pairing black with black, black, and more black so when I started to play I looked at options that were calm classics (but not black) and something that added a punch of colour while coming off polished and professional but still young and fun.
How do you accessorize a great little black dress? Leave your comments below!
