The morning started so warm bright and beautiful that it was hard to believe that it was the middle of October here in London, Ontario. It was the perfect setting for Jessica & Kevin's wedding day.
Since I met these two amazing people, I knew this would be a day filled with such a pure love not only from the fabulous bride and groom but from their children and families too.
Now don't get me wrong, these two have weathered many storms together - life hasn't been a fairy tale that moved smoothly to their wedding day and happily ever after (but you would hardly know it seeing them together). You know what though? This journey has made them stronger, together. That's what marriage is.
To me, these two are the very defination of marriage done right.
A strong marriage rarely has two strong people at the same time. It is a husband and wife who take turns being strong for each other in the moments when the other feels weak.
Now I'm thrilled to turn it over to Jess & Kevin to tell us a little more in their own words
Jessica:We met online!
I knew Kevin was the one when we had our very first meeting. We hugged and he kissed my collarbone. It was as if we were already a couple and he was greeting me after being away for a few weeks. We both knew instantly that we were soulmates. We said I love you within the first week!
J: I love how gentle and loving Kevin is.
K: I love how understanding and empathetic Jessica is.
I knew Kevin was going to propose as we picked my ring together. However, I did not know when he was going to do it. He proposed on the beach, at sunset on Port Franks. Where we went on our very first date. It was magical. I was overjoyed!
The excitement shared with our two children, Aiden and Jillian, over the wedding and marriage.
I wanted it to be simple, but elegant. I did not have a real theme.
To enjoy every second because it happens really fast!
Thank you to Jessica & Kevin for sharing their love story, their wedding day, and their beautiful family!

The day before our wedding, before the sun was even up, Zach, Matt, yy groom Ross, my daughter Alyssa and I piled into the cars and off we went.
Was this exactly how I wanted to spend the morning before my wedding...at first I would say no, but, the reality is yes!
How could I better celebrate our family together than amazing photographs of us as a couple, us a family, and in a place we love!
While Zach was photographing Ross and I, Matt noticed this moment unfolding as Alyssa watched from beside us. It's one of my favourite photos of my munchkin cause it's just so her!
While Zach (&Matt) were photographing Ross and I under the tree, Alyssa found this leaf with a heart cut out of the centre. Alyssa showed it to Zach and this beautiful image was the result.
This park combined some things that fit us so well. Ross is all about being out in the forest and loves the fall colours. I, on the other hand, am normally a spring girl and water is my thing. This park gave us beautiful fall colours, a small river flowing through it, and even some rocks to climb on. (Brownie points go to my hubby on finding the location and props to Zach and Matt for finding so many ways to utilize this small park.
I could not be more thrilled and can't wait to finish framing these images and get them up on the walls. We walked away with beautiful artwork, time together, and memories that we'll all cherish of this special time.
So what's holding you back from booking your session and how will you exist in photographs?

Sam and I met in college. She was this fun, spunky young woman and I was the mature student with an infant at home (though somewhere under there I like to think I was still a fun spunky woman too).
Years, life changes, and distance has kept us apart more in recent years but when Sam called me to find out what weekends I would be available to help her celebrate her pregnancy I knew this was going to be a weekend to remember.
On a crisp Sunday morning, off we went to celebrate in the beautiful fall colours all around Ottawa. Sam glowed among the natural elements she loves in the warmth of fall colours.
It was amazing to see just how at peace Sam was even in the very crisp fall air
Look at those blue eyes! I wonder if Lilly will have them too.
This woman just glows with the joys of becoming a mother!
It was such an honour to spend a quiet morning with Sam celebrating her pregnancy and the little girl that will soon turn her world upside down and challenge the boundaries of the amount of love a heart can hold.
I wish you all the best Sam and can't wait to meet Lilly!

It's a magic time of year.
When the leaves start to change colours, when the corn stalks are tall and golden, when there's a crisp breeze, and a beautiful golden light in the sky at night. I love fall for photography (and fashion, I love me some cute sweaters, jackets, scarves, gloves and boots!).
Over the years, I've always taken the opportunity to capture new images of my daughter. Today I'm sharing a few of my favourite fall portraits of my daughter and unveil her 2013 fall portraits!

Fall is here, it's in the air, on the trees and falling to the ground with every leaf. With fall comes some exciting things...halloween, pumpkins, cozy sweaters, amazing jackets, adorable booties, sumptuous scarves....
This first outfit is definitely a fall favorite for me. We all have that favorite pair of jeans that fits just perfect. They looked great all summer long with tiny tanks and now they transition into fall with a few tweaks. Here I've pair a pair of mid wash skinnies with classic nude pumps, and oversized bag, and a great jacket.
I love this jacket for it's great fall colour, button details, and great A-line shape and wrap styling to accent the best of you body giving a great hourglass shape. I love the way they have popped the back of the collar for some attitude, and tie the waist into an adorable bow for a feminine touch.
The second outfit capitalizes on a popular colour this season in green. I love a great kelly or emerald green in any outfit ranging from green jeans, to a pop of colour in the accessories. Almost everyone can pull this colour off so for your next fall date, try a great dress like this one in the solid hue.
I love the shape of this dress for its fitted bodice, defined waist, and softly flared skirt. Top it with a great A-line wool topper, a neutral pump with adorable details, and a clutch with a complimentary pop of colour and you're ready for dinner, movies, the art gallery, or anywhere the night might take you!
This last look might just be my favorite look for everyday. It's a totally cute, comfy, toasty warm, and great for that transitional time when you don't always need an extra layer but the short sleeves are a little too cool. This thin sweater gives the outfit both physical warmth and a pop of warm colour on the cool days with a great pair of jeans, ankle booties, a comfy scarf looped around your neck, and an optional perfect pea coat in grey to top off the look!
I have to admit I'm looking forward to Fall this year. For most of my life I have been a real summer girl. I love the bright sunshine, running around in shorts and a tank top, and hitting the water whenever I can. This year however, I'm looking forward to Fall. As the weather cools, and the colours erupt from the trees the opportunities for photography multiply!
The other thing I love about Fall...the fashion! This year I love the Colours of Fall. I think these colours translate beautifully not only into fashion but into colours for your wedding day.

Tangerine Tango colour has been the colour of the year for 2012 and especially hot all this summer. It's a fantastic punch of colour. Oranges have always been popular for fall weddings (as have reds and yellows) but this year the tones are gorgeous!
Having a vintage style wedding? Try combinations Rhapsody & Rose Smoke. These muted colours have the feel of aged elegance and whimsy.
Planning a outdoor or country style wedding? I love the combination of the Honey Gold and French Roast. These rich colours remind me of aged barn wood and fields of wheat. What a great colour combo in the colours of fall!
Think about including one or more of these colours into your wedding day in your flowers, decor, attire, or linens. Which colours speak to you most? Which would you be most likely to include in your wedding day?
