Style Me Monday: Going Short

With the holiday party season in full swing with Christmas just over a week away (ahhh!!!!) and New Years creeping up on us quickly holiday party dresses are on all of our minds! Last week we talked about one of my favourite looks, the long black dress, and this week we're looking for something a little more fun and flirty so we're going short!
Whether your plans include black tie parties, work parties, or a holiday night out on the town with friends there is a dress for you. Little black dresses, sexy sparkly numbers, work appropriate stunning separates, or a black and white high/low gown are just a few of the many options available in every price range imaginable! What will you be wearing as you celebrate in style?

Style Me Monday: Long and Lean in Black

You've probably heard that every woman should have an LBD or Little Black Dress in their wardrobe but right now...I'm more in love with the Long Black Dress like these beautiful dresses...
I found these beauties while browsing one of my favorite designer lines, Alexander Mcqueen, for inspiration. I absolutely love the long monochromatic look of these and both give me a feel of modern beauty with a touch of old hollywood glamour.
While now there are very few occasions where a long dress is required, I think something like these beautiful long black dresses are a must for any wardrobe. A long, slim lined dress like this must fit you perfectly! You want this dress to glide beautifully down your body, accentuating all the right curves while not constricting your movement (or breathing).
Would you try a Long Black Dress this holiday season?

Style Me Monday: One Little Black Dress - Two Outfits

Last week I had a tough new challenge...finding something to wear for my appearance on Daytime London. I started out by hitting the mall...I found tons of great items but many of them would be one use items.
Then I stepped into Jacob and quickly had a full room of dresses, tops, and skirts to try on. When I got to this black sheath dress I just loved it. It fits beautifully, is classic and appropriate. In short, I loved it!
Before I decided on anything, I needed to plan it out - what would be the most practical? If I bought this dress what options would I have for upcoming events like the Gallery Opening? Here are two of my favourite options...
I'm notoriously bad for pairing black with black, black, and more black so when I started to play I looked at options that were calm classics (but not black) and something that added a punch of colour while coming off polished and professional but still young and fun.
How do you accessorize a great little black dress? Leave your comments below!
