Opps I did it Again - The 2018 Ride to Conquer Cancer

Hi guys,

So I did something, something a lot of people thought was crazy to do once but then I went and did it again. I signed up for the Ride to Conquer Cancer.

Last time I did this, in 2014, I signed up for a family member and a student fighting cancer and all those we have lost before. I started fundraising and training for this 200+ KM bike right from Toronto to Niagara Falls. I was excited and nervous (and insanely grateful for all the love, encouragement, and donations in support of my ride).

Sadly Auntie never saw me ride past the end of her driveway when she lost her battle just 2 weeks before the ride (but my husband and parents were there cheering us on). My student however, is a success story. After 3 years he's out of the hospital, done his treatments and doing really really well.

This year I am riding in memory of my Aunt, in celebration of my students success, and I also want to ride in support a friend and photography mentor, Jennifer Rozenbaum, in her fight against Breast Cancer. Jen recently underwent a bi-lateral mastectomy but has been incredible open in sharing her entire journey in the hopes of raising awareness and helping others. She's an inspiration!

I want to be a part of making more stories like my students come true through the research, treatment, and care that the Ride to Conquer Cancer funds.

I have set my goals for training and fundraising. Every day I'll be getting closer to reaching my fundraising goal of $2500 and my personal goal of finishing strong (without developing pneumonia this time hopefully). You can help me reach that goal by making a donation on my behalf today. It only takes a second and your gift has the power to change lives for the better.

Wrapping it Up at the Nth Lounge & Emporium

This past weekend I had the pleasure of attending the first annual holiday event for the Nth Lounge & Emporium at the beautiful Gladstone Hotel in Toronto. It was a fantastic day out with great food, wine, and vendors set at a beautiful and unique venue.

Having never been to the Gladstone Hotel before I had no idea what to expect. Once inside I just loved it! Unique artistic touches intermingle with historic elements in a beautiful way that compliments, not competes, with each other. I admit, walking up the stairs I was completely fascinated with the old elevator (oldest still operating in Toronto - over 100 years old) but when I reached the second floor for the Nth Lounge & Emporium I was ready for some fun. Immediately upon entering my eyes fell upon the table for Colaneri Winery and the gorgeous mini cupcakes from Trina's Cakes.

I loved the signs giving the perfect wine pairings for each of the cupcakes. Such little details (and scrumptious cupcakes) were the order of the day.

The day was full of amazing vendors with some of my personal favourites including

- Giddy YoYo - Amazing Chocolate...I need to find somewhere to get this locally. Even their extra dark has a beautiful smooth flavor.

- B.A.G.S. (Beautiful Accessories Great Style) - I was totally eyeing this beautiful blue number while we were there

- Eliza Perry Purveyor of Fine Handmade Accessories - I fell in love with one necklace in particular. It's just my style!

- Eves Leaves - I loved the look and feel of the fabric, and the versatility of these items was just astounding - Also love tat for people like me there is a youtube video of how to dress yourself :D

- Karoo - Beautiful clothes - I fell in love with a great tunic but sadly my wool allergy kept me from it :(

- Olivia Rose - Beautiful tutus and petti-skirts for little ones

- 2nd Shot - Creating amazing things from old skateboards

- Totem - Truly One of a Kind Upcycled Bags - I loved all the colours!

Also happening on site....Mini Manicures, On Site Mobile Spa Services, Live Painting by artist Mark Grice, and much more!

Definitely an event worth attending! Keep up on everything happening for the Nth Lounge & Emporium's next event by visiting the website at www.NthLounge.com, like them on facebook Nth Lounge & Emporium, and follow them on Twitter @NthLoungeEmpori

Christmas Shopping feels Indulgent at the Nth Lounge & Emporium

Did you hear it?

Another day just clicked by...and that means there's only 68 days until Christmas! Before you dash off to make your gift list, or to start shopping, let me introduce you to a new way to shop.

Every year I dread hitting the mall to rush around, battle crowds, and pick up some okay gifts that everyone else is getting to. Can you relate to this? We are out spending our time and money to find a great gift that our friends, family, and love ones will truly enjoy. Shouldn't we be rewarded?

This year let's do it right!

I'd like to introduce you to the first event of the Nth Lounge and Emporium. The brain child of three amazing women (Michelle McCann Rowan, Nicole McMullen & Crystal Paulitzki), the Nth Lounge takes the Holiday Shopping Experience to a new level.

On November 3rd, leave the kids at home while you join these lovely ladies for a day of real shopping pleasure at the Gladstone Hotel right here in Toronto, Ontario. I'll be there shopping, sipping, snacking, and snapping photos.

What should you expect? Take great lineup of unique vendors with a variety of traditional, custom, and/or eco-friendly products displayed and demonstrated for your shopping pleasure, now add in entertainment, wine, sweets, spa treatments, and a swank Hollywood style atmosphere... Now you're thinking of the Nth Lounge and Emporium.

Are you excited yet? Well get this...not only am I going, but I want you to be there too! I've got a pair of tickets to giveaway to one lucky reader. Just take a moment to stop by the Nth Lounge & Emporium website and add you comment below with the vendor or product you're most excited to see and why.
