This weekend was one of our crazy busiest weekends of the year as we spent the weekend meeting amazing brides, catching up with awesome wedding vendors, and just generally having an awesome time at the London Bridal Expo.
Thank you to all the brides, grooms, moms, bridesmaids, friends, and wedding professionals who stopped by to say hello. Congrats to Angela B who won a portrait session and 16"x24" Gallery Wrap! 2018 is looking like an amazing year of working with couples who overflow with love as they celebrate their weddings, helping business babes rock their personal brand, and celebrating with women who are ready to see themselves differently while sharing their stories of beauty and strength in the Beauty Is Project.
Growing up my memories of Christmas included waking up (very) early, unwrapping my stocking before anyone else was up (just to rewrap it so I wouldn't get in trouble for starting without my sister), waking my sister and opening our stockings together.
From there I would wake my parents, put the coffee on to brew so it was ready for them and make up a plate of my mom's shortbread cookies to eat while we opened gifts. (Breakfast could always wait.)
After the gifts were unwrapped, we would have breakfast and watch the Disney Santa Clause parade together in our PJ's.
The rest of the day was spent playing with new toys, enjoying the sunshine at the beach (as long as weather allowed), watching the nutcracker ballet on TV (if I had any say) and then coming back to make a Christmas feast to share with our cousins and neighbours Helen & Henry.
Some of my best memories were spent with my family on Christmas Holidays. So many of my friends talked about going out to play in the snow on Christmas holidays but until my teenage years I was happy to enjoy all the best of the season with my family in the land of sunshine and palm trees, Florida.
As we get older I suppose things change. We get busy with jobs, with families of our own. We break the old traditions and create new ones of our own.
However you celebrate the holidays (and whichever holidays you celebrate) I hope they are full of love, laughter, and making memories with the people that mean the most to you.
It's been a few months since we moved out of the Photographer's Studio and things have been a bit quiet around here. First it was back to school, and now it's been all about getting in and getting the new space ready.
We've spent the last few weeks patching, prepping and painting the walls, replacing trim, picking out furniture, moving in and more but it's almost done!
Today I'm thrilled to invite each and every one of you to join us in studio on Saturday November 25th from 4:00pm - 9:00pm to check out the new space, catch up on what's new, and celebrate the start of a new chapter in our journey.
I can't wait to see you there!
Hop over to the facebook event to RSVP or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
Can't make it? Make sure you check out the Event Page too, I'll be sharing photos and live videos from the event.

This past week I have had the pleasure of being interviewed on Daytime London on Rogers TV and been able to share a bit of who I am on The Gem too.
It's been amazing and the response to the new Contemporary Elegance Portraits has really touched my heart. Sharing my own story and something so close to my heart is always a little nerve wracking.
Thank you for being such an open loving community. I'm forever grateful and I hope to get to express it to each of you this Friday night.

Some of my earliest memories are of time spent with my family supporting our community. I remember days spent outside the Sobey's in our small town helping to sell car draw tickets. I remember Easter mornings helping set up the Easter Egg Hunt in our town. I remember riding on the float or, when I was a little older, handing out Hot Chocolate in the Santa Claus Parade. I remember being a Kin Kid.
My parents were dedicated members of the Kinsmen and Kinette Clubs of Grimsby. We raised money for Cystic Fibrosis in every way we could to give back and held local events that supported our community too. Community service was just part of what our family did, of who we were.
I am excited get back to those routes and to spend 2017 focusing on celebrating beauty while supporting amazing people and local organizations.
Rebecca Nash Photography will donate 10% of all sales in 2017 to mental health agencies serving London, Ontario and beyond.
In the month of January, for each wedding or portrait session booked (doesn’t have to occur in January) Rebecca Nash Photography will donate one gift certificate to a non-profit organization focused on mental health to be used to in their fundraising events.
Want to be a part of it?

I am thrilled to be participating in (and orgnaizing) this event for a second year.
Last year brides gave fantastic feedback on the things they loved about the event including the smaller/more intimate feel, the knowledgeable and helpful vendors, the inspiration they got from the wedding inspiration vignettes, and more.
Among the many fantastic prizes to be won from our vendors is your chance to win an Engagement Portrait Session from Rebecca Nash Photography as well as exclusive savings if you book your 2016 or 2017 wedding photography at the show.

Today is the first official day of Shutterfest 2016. If you follow me, this is not the first you are hearing about it.This big questions is as a bride or colleague...
"Why would I care?"
There are a lot of professionals in every field out there who choose not to share the education they attend. Why? They feel like 1) it makes them look like they don't know what they are doing yet or 2) they don't think the people who trust them will care. I don't know about you, but I would love to hear more about the continuing education professionals I work with (like my daughters teacher, my doctor, my accountant, my mechanic and more...) are involved in.
Here are just a few reasons why professional development and education matter.
- It shows dedication to what they do
- It keeps us up to date on trends, techniques and more
- It inspires growth, change, and passion for what we do (or at least good education does)
- It builds a community of professionals (I don't have all the answers but I probably know someone I trust who can help)
I came to Shutterfest for some very specific reasons...
- I want to grow as an artist by learning from others and experimenting
- I want to grow as a business owner - how can I keep improving the client experience to really give them the very best?
- I want to learn what is new in my field - is there a new technique that will give my clients better results? are there new products that will help my clients enjoy there artwork more (or for longer)?
- I want to be inspired! I want to be energized!
- I want to meet others who are passionate about the same things I am
This Friday Favourites is going to go a little different. Today I am sharing some of my favourite moments from the trip to St Louis for Shutterfest.
First up, for the sake of full disclosure - yes I attended last year, no I didn't drive last time, no I have never driven this far by myself (I was a little nervous), and yes I have plenty of dumb moments. Now with that out of the way, here we go...
1. Leaving in the early hours - I was excited, there was no way I was going back to sleep so it's time to get going while the roads are still quieter. It's 6:15am (Eastern) and I'm on the road to shutterfest! GPS says it will take me 10 hours to drive there but it doesn't consider things like weather, traffic, and breaks for snacks and/or the ladies room.
2. It's lunch time, I should be hungry so I'm getting ready to stop and then I see it...there's a starbucks at this exit!! I don't care that it's over a mile out of my way to get there or that I am driving past all my normal picks for road trip food (McDonalds, Wendys, etc) I want my hot chocolate. Don't worry, I ate something too...mmm Banana!
3. Funny moment - A Canadian walks into a BP Gas station and when asked how much she wants starts thinking, hmmm.... is 1.99 a good price? is it better then the 83.5cents/litre I paid in Canada? How many Litres are in a Gallon anyways? (Answers - yes it's a good price, yes it's better than 83.5cents/ltr even with exchange it works out to around 61cents/litre, and 3.78 Litres in a Gallon)
4. Oh Man, we're getting close...now entering Illinois! This is where event founder and organizer Sal Cincotta and his team have there studio and make their magic. (Fun fact, it's also the state where a lot of my favourite photography products are made for my studio)
5. That moment driving down the I-55 when the St Louis Arch just peaks around the edge of a mound of earth. I got pretty giddy, not gonna lie, and a little antsy to get there already. When the full arch came into view, man was I excited!
6. A special sight...the Busch Stadium! Now, I admit...I am not a big sports fan but this coming week the Busch Stadium will be playing host to my Sal Cincotta and 13 lucky photographers who have won their way it to a really unique and amazing shoot. AND I am one of them!
7. Home sweet home...at least til April 2nd. Seeing the St Louis Union Station Hotel out my window was the best! Now I know I made it, I'm here, and I'm ready. This place will be my home for the next week or so and will be hosting all the insanity of Shutterfest next Tuesday to Thursday.
It took just over 12 hours, through 2 countries, 1 province and 5 states, and 2 time zones but... I made it! One of my favourite things about staying at a Double Tree by Hilton...warm chocolate chip and walnut cookie on arrival!
The next couple days will be helping out at the studio, at setup, and trying to get as much rest as I can to enjoy the conference next week as much as possible. I know that this community will be full of learning, inspiration, possibility, and friendship. Here we go!
This last Friday I had the pleasure of meeting some pretty fantastic brides in the Lindsay & Kawartha Lakes area at the Kawartha This Week Wedding Trends Bridal Show at the Lindsay Amoury.
We spent the evening visiting with other vendors, hearing about brides big wedding day plans, and just having fun! (Yes, that was me dancing in my booth...and the aisles...during the fashion show) This night definitely got me even more excited to not only be a London Wedding Photographer but also a Lindsay Wedding Photographer and Kawartha Wedding Photographer. Man, I missed this place!
(Yep, I used to live in the Kawartha's and it's even where my daughter was born so we had to go for a little tour to show her some of the places we lived, worked, and learned in those first few years of her life. It's like coming home.)
It was great to be able to share what I do but even more fun to just connect with awesome people.
I can't wait to be working in the Kawartha's more on some amazing weddings!
Missed the show? You have another chance to catch me at the Peterborough This Week Wedding Trends Bridal Show next Sunday January 24th between 11am-4pm at the Memorial Centre. Be sure to stop by, say hello and we can even get an impromptu dance party going if you want to. It's going to be awesome!
Oh my goodness...can we talk about the London Bridal Expo for a minute please? It was AMAZING!
The venue was great (the new location is way more spacious which seemed to make all the guests more comfortable and the vendors too), the weather was good (no brutal cold or huge piles of snow though we did get a little rain), and the brides & their entourages. I don't even know what to say about you guys!
All the brides were just fabulous. You were excited (and sometimes overwhelmed) about the show and your upcoming wedding day. You came with great questions and took the time to really talk to us crazy vendors. You had a vision of your perfect wedding day and what's most important to you on your big day.
I just loved getting to meet you and hear your stories. Getting to meet amazing people, hear their stories and help them celebrate their love story is the reason I got into wedding photography here in London to begin with.
Today I just wanted to say a huge THANK YOU to each and every one of you that took the time to visit me at the show. You guys made the weekend just fabulous!
Congratulations to each and every one of you on your engagement and upcoming wedding!
If it's half as amazing as you were this weekend, you are going to blow people away!
Are you newly engaged? Know someone who is? (Or are just awesome and want to stop by and say hello?)
Join Me (Rebecca) and a ton of amazing vendors and London Wedding Professionals at the Winter London Bridal Expo!
This is the one stop that can help the newly engaged get inspired and really kickstart your wedding planning while helping other brides tick off some of the last few things on their to do list.
I'm always excited to be a part of the London Bridal Expo because...
- I know I am surrounded with fabulous vendors who have a passion for weddings just like me!
- I get to spend my day chatting with fabulous brides about their proposals, their wedding dreams, and so much more
- There are always the best people there and the energy & excitement is amazing!

I`m so excited to be heading back to a place that means so much to me.
The Kawartha`s were one of my favourite places to live with summers working at Lockside Trading, Tim Hortons in Lakefield, and Lovesick Lake Cafe, Gift Shop & Campground in Burleigh Falls as a teenager. After moving away for school, life led me back to the Kawartha`s for the birth of my daughter, my return to college, and a new path in life in Ennismore & Bridgenorth but, I`m getting caught up reminiscing.
What I`m really here to announce is....I`m coming back!
I am so excited to be adding the amazing Kawartha`s to my photography sweet spots and what better way to kick things off then coming to see some fabulous brides at the upcoming bridal shows!

It's the most wonderful time of the year!
I will be very honest, I can not believe it's December 19th already! Not only does the lack of snow outside the windows feel weird but it's been such a busy year that I'm left going wait...where did the fall go?
Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining. I love decorating, baking (shortbread of course), singing Christmas carols and best of all...the time with friends and family to celebrating another fabulous year!
Tonight I decided it was time to get things going with the tree going up (I'm so late, I know) and working with my daughter for the first batch of a family tradition, Shortbread!
Now I wanted to take a moment to reach out to you, the most awesome-est people I know including couples I've already worked with, couples I am excited to work with soon, fellow wedding professionals, and all of our friends and family, to wish you a Happy Holiday Season!
No matter what holiday you are celebrating this season I wish you love and laughter, health and happiness with friends and family now and all throughout the year.
