Grooms need Tips too! 3 things you may not have considered

If you have been visiting bridal expos and reading wedding blogs you have seen tips upon tips for the beautiful brides, and even their bridesmaids on how to make the wedding the best day possible.

Today, I want to shift my attention to the other star of the show - the Groom!

If you have visited my booth at any of the recent bridal expos, these may ring a bell but while they are simple, they will make a huge impact on your big day.

1) Get a Second Shirt!

It may seem like a silly thing but believe me, you will thank me later.

When it comes to the wedding day - you are likely to be in your suit for a good 10+ hours and it’s going to get warm! Between the layers, and the high emotions (not to mention the dancing) you are going to get warm so having a second shirt to put on after the ceremony and photos will keep you looking, feeling (and smelling) fresh all night long.

Bonus points…you may want a long sleeve shirt for the prep, ceremony and photos especially for great cuff links but you may be able to switch to a short sleeve for the reception keeping you even cooler.

2) Consider a Vest

This seems contradictory to the idea above with trying to stay cool and fresh but be patient.

At some point during the day you are going to overheat. You are going to sweat. And we all know what happens when white shirts meet moisture.

A vest helps to disguise this from your guests and your photos too. Bonus points for giving you another look for your photos that still looks fantastic while not being quite so warm.

3) Assign a Phone Holder

I’m sure at this point I don’t have to stress the importance of having your phone on silent or even turned off during the ceremony but, what happens when you slip that silent phone in your pocket?

Photos full of rectangles on the guys legs (from phones in the pants pockets) or guys who look like they have a 3rd nipple (from phones in the inside pocket of the jacket poking out) hanging on the walls of the bride and groom.

Assign a trusted friend or family member to hold the phones of all of your groomsmen for the ceremony so weird bulges aren’t distracting anyone in the moment or in the photos later.

Which tips will you be incorporating into your big day?
