Stacy & Murray’s Wedding Day

Today I am beyond excited to share with you a sneak peek into the wedding of Stacy & Murray!
These two beautiful souls met….in one of a few ways….let’s hear all about it from them.

How you first met?

We are not 100% sure as to when we actually met one another for the first time. We met numerous times at different social functions throughout University and even a few years after University. We were at the same parties, social gatherings, school events, a friend's engagement party, and another friend's wedding. However, it wasn't until the fall of 2016 when we were both single that we ended up at the same friend's house to help with house renos. That is when we actually started to get to know one another. The next few weeks we texted each other every day to keep each other accountable for our work outs. Then it slowly turned into us asking each other about what we were making for dinner or what we did that day at work or what our plans were for the weekend with other people. Eventually in April of 2017 we went on our first "unofficial'' date. We went rock climbing in Guelph and then out for sushi. The rock climbing was supposed to be a large group activity but at the last moment no one else could make it, so it ended up being just the 2 of us.

When did you know he/she was the one? Was there something he/she did?

Murray - It was about 3 months after we started dating that I realized she was the person I wanted to spend the rest of my life with and that I truly loved her.

Stacy - Unfortunately, I came out of a really bad relationship before Murray and so, with my guards up, it took me a lot longer than him to realize he was my person. There is not a specific aha moment, there were many little moments that slowly made me love him more and more. He is my best friend and I can't imagine going through this life without him.

Tell us the one thing you love most about each other.

Stacy - I love that when Murray hugs me, all my worries seem to melt away. He always has a way of making me feel at peace and loved. I always feel better after he hugs me. He is the place I can call home.

Murray - Stacy has a pure wholesome infectious joy for life, for the little things and the big things. She feels with her whole heart.

Tell us about the proposal. (Did you see it coming, how long was it in the planing?, how did you feel? nervous, excited, freaking out?)

The proposal took place at the cottage up on Oxtongue Lake. Stacy knew Murray was going to ask at some point in the future, as they had already talked about marriage, but had no idea that it was going to happen the week we were up at the cottage. Murray took months to plan the proposal and even designed Stacy's engagement ring. Murray was super nervous. He tried numerous times to propose but things kept getting in the way, (cold and rainy weather, lots of mosquitos, mud, fear of dropping the ring in the lake, and thunderstorms appearing out of nowhere) but finally was able to present the ring to Stacy by sliding it across her open book by the campfire one day.

Besides getting married --‐ what’s the one thing you are looking forward to on your wedding day?

Having a ton of fun and dancing the night away .

What inspired your décor or theme?

Love galaxy orchids, wanted a classic, elegant and a bit of a rustic touch.

What’s one thing you wish you would have known earlier in regards to planning?

The amount of time it takes and how many things are involved in planning a wedding.
